An individual’s dopamine levels play a very significant role in his or her balanced behavior. Do you find yourself feeling lonely, sad, stressed and depressed most of the time? Do you continuously seek thrills or have addictions such as shopping, gambling or self destruction? Then, there is a possibility that you already have a dopamine problem. You can take an immediate action to bring back your good health, happiness and self-confidence. Dopamine and Serotonin work in opposite of each other. Someone with bipolar disorder will generally want to raise serotonin and lower dopamine levels. Others may need the opposite.

You do not need to suffer from depression for a long period of time. The following are some of the best tips on how you can regulate your dopamine levels in a natural way.

Reduce your sugar intake. According to scientific research, sugar changes brain chemistry and affects your dopamine levels. Aside from drug and alcohol intake, too much sugar intake also affects your behavior and makes you feel depressed over a specific period of time.

Even though delicious sweets are truly irresistible, you must apply a high degree of discipline to control yourself. In the end, you can be happy as you want to be.

In order for you to have a daily routine, it is recommended to divide 24 hours into 8 hours of work, 8 hours of sleep, as well as 8 hours of recreation, entertainment and socializing.

Engage in regular exercise. Exercise can help you to increase your blood circulation. In addition to this, it also influences the presence of various hormones on your brain which can improveyour dopamine levels.

Avoid too much stress. Take things easy. Always see things on the brighter side. Stress is caused by two major factors, chronic daily stressors and poor adrenal function. If you learn how to balance your life, you can avoid extreme depression that is detrimental to your health. To avoid too much stress and loneliness, you must take time to spend time with your family and friends. This can help you to be happy.

Burdock root can be used in a tea or cooked and eaten.

Thanks for this informative post Laurel. How does meditation stock up as a dopamine booster? I find that I always feel great after prayer and meditation so reading this got me wondering if there’s a connection.

    Great Post!

I had no idea that sugar levels had so much to do with depression.

I am seriously going to look into the supplements that you recommend!
